I won't be taking commissions anymore either, I can't really handle them anymore and I noticed myself becoming less and less competent with them D: Gotta know your limits. I draw because it makes me happy (which is something I have trouble finding in other areas), and attempts to do it for other purposes have been ummm unsuccessful? I create for that one reason, its a very inward-looking way to do things, but it keeps me going and that matters to me more than anything else. The other stuff is all peripheral.
I don't know many artists in a similar camp which makes me feel kind of like a weirdo, but what can you do? I don't want to constantly struggle to be someone I'm not cos down that road lies madness D:
Hmm this turned out sounding much more whiny than intended. Whoops!

Description of the three characters posing for a family portrait.
(1) Lars: Tall, lanky Caucasian male, he wears a Commissar officer (complete with hat) that looks ragged and encrusted with barnacles here and there. Every time I drew him, he ended up looking too much like Davy Jones from
(2) Skuld: From the Ah! My Goddess anime, shes in her late teens, her clothing and facial tattoos are black. Shes surrounded by a faint aura of reddish light, sort of like what a solar eclipse looks like, and her long brunette hair has a living Medusa-ish quality to it.
(3) Gunnhild: daughter of Lars and Skuld, she outwardly looks like a prepubescent drow elf girl with white hair, wearing a simple silvery-white dress. She has silvery facial tattoos similar to her mother Skuld. Both Gunnhild and her father Lars have shark-like grins filled with pointed teeth
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your art.
