I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINISHED THIS!

It really was close to being doomed as one of the paintings I leave half-finished because it takes too damn long. And then I lose interest and feel guilty and blahblahblahwhocares. But I had a portfolio review coming and I panicked at not having much recent stuff that I felt was portfolio-quality. So I ended up spending an entire night doing nothing but painting and painting until my hand hurt and my ass hurt and my stomach hurt and my eyes felt like they were bleeding and then it was suddenly 11AM!!! And I rushed to get it to the printmaking lab before class started and woosh. I really push things to the end of the line. I hate not sleeping, and my schedule is still really messed up these 3 days later. BLARGH.

Anyways my review went really well! And I got a free critique on it from the professor and it was really nice to get one where someone actually pointed out things that I hadn't thought about, even though it is all really too late to fix now AUGH. He made me feel pretty silly for adding the text though, he could tell that I slapped it on there at the last minute. Damn I'd hoped I would've gotten away with it hahaha. >__> ;

Anyways I'm REALLY happy with it, so I might try and get a number of prints made for selling. Yay!

Also thanks goes out to *hamdiggy, EJ, and Matt for their help and suggestions while I was scrambling to finish. Especially thanks to Matt who just so happened to stay up all night with me to keep me company, but also so I could send him episodes of The Venture Brothers. XP

omgosh...your coloring is amazing.. I really love all your drawings. Their expressions are so cool.. I need to learn how to do expressions on my drawings. XD

Your colouring style just BLOWS me AWAY. Completley. I love the sharp shading on her nose and lips.
I like how her boots fade into the bg, and how mellow the dude in the bg looks.
What a great idea for an old school cowboy ad! XD
What class was this for?
:icondadward:
This is really great. I particularly like how exaggerated her smile is.

I love how you use such beautifull saturated tones.

There's a certain quality to your works that is just absolutely delicious to look at.

I absolutely adore her freckles.

Oh it wasn't for a class, but I applied to a design program at my uni so I needed to put a portfolio together for it. I'm currently not in any art classes at all. HAHAahaha. Even if I were I'm sure I wouldn't really have the chance (or time!) to do anything like this anyway. This is the kinda stuff I get done when it's mostly for fun, but also because I want to do something finished and nice.
:iconenerjak:
Wow. But imagine if someone was paying you to do that?! I'd show that to potential buyers. I think people would pay an arm and a leg to have an original art piece like that endorsing one of their products. "See the ad for Rocket Dog shoes, it's a really cute girl with pink hair, but I think you could do much better." XD The person who drew that ad probably gets so much money. Seriously tho, I think that would be really fun! :D But anyways, good luck with your portfolio! <3

man. I just love your style. So completely absolutely. So unique too. Very awesome job on this! The work you poored into it was well worth it I think. I love the detail on her face and hair, it's incredible. Your work is kinda like a blend of cartoon and realism.. I think it's a wonderful mix. Though I can't be sure, but I don't think they had lasersight or whatever they're called... on their guns back then? Either way. Great job on this. the detail is amazing. :clap:

:+favlove: for sure! :D
