Captain Sam Vimes and Goodboy Pindle Featherstone the Third (everyone calls him Errol) X)
HERE IS A DISCLAIMER: I always have reservations about posting fan art (and yet, most of my gallery is fan art??), mainly because of fear of people nitpicking to death the parts of the image what are not canon or worse, what aren't THEIR idea of canon and that's just messy. So what? And as I learned, even when I bother to take the time to research, 'mistakes' can still happen. Vimes with a full head of hair is not canon! His badge is the wrong type (omg I couldn't remember if the shield or star was the old/new style)! His shirt is BLUE instead of brown! Maybe Errol's nostrils aren't huge enough. Eat it.
Maybe Discworld fans aren't as crazy about that stuff. Especially when you have to skim five novels at once to get a decent mental picture XD BUT IT'S WORTH IT BECAUSE I LOVE SAMUEL VIMES HE'S THE SEXIEST FICTIONAL MAN OF ALL TIME. Feel free to argue if you think Vetinari is moreso.
EITHER WAY. I love this picture almost as much as I love SAMUEL VIMES so I can't hold out. I was too intimidated to do any fanart for years, but I suppose I got over it when I went on a reading binge last summer (I lived across the street from a library X3) and I couldn't contain the obsession any longer. *shriek!* DISCWORLD
Hrm, I try hard to draw characters as they appear in books, otherwise people won't recognize them (for some reason I can't get them to look as how people see them). I have that problem of looking through different volumes for references. I ended up reading half a book once because I just could not find the part that described a character I wanted to draw.

the details on his face are amazing! he's expression is perfect and of course the colors<3
i see no reason to nitpick anything when the pic is that awesomeD: plus it's a fanart for BOOK, how can you nitpick something that was only described in few wordsD: ?
...i still think Vetinari is hotter, but nothing beats the Death of RatsxD

ohhhh discworld *claps hands*
you shouldnt think so much about people who think that you made "wrong" fanart. when i read a book i get my very own picture of a character in my head. and even though the characters are well described in the book my imagination is totally different!
it happened once that i read a name wrong on the first spages (just dont ask me why lol) and when i recignized it i thought "ahhh. whatever. her name is *bla* now!"
thats the great thing about books. and thats the good part oft beeing an artist too. you can bringt YOUR imagination to paper. or... well on screen. and you did a perfect job *rambling is over now*

"Kiff, I have made it with a woman. Inform the men!"
I hate acting like a fangirl, but lawks, it's Vimesey. If you can't fluff about like a fool for Dux Vimes, who can you do that for, eh?
You've actually nailed him how I'VE come to imagine him, so I'm ridiculously stoked.
Thanks ma'am, you've made my day.
great job with the coloring as well.
