I stopped drawing stuff from my fantasy story for a few years because... I hated it. I was disillusioned with fantasy in general and it pissed me off that my OWN story wasn't any different. So I shelved it until some new ideas came along that I could use to shake things up. Yeah... not like I am planning to take it anywhere, though, HEH. I just really enjoy the process (designing and worldbuilding and such). Anyway.
Ever since these characters first came to me I tried to pin down what they "really" looked like, but this is the first time it really feels right. Whooo. It took quite a few years didn't it? There are a lot of nitpicky things that I would change now that I had some time to stare at it for a while, but I know my elfs well enough that I don't feel the need to mess with it anymore. You have to stop nitpicking sooner or later so that you can go draw the 657 million other things that need to be drawn! Anyway I am happy to have some official reference-type drawings of them finally. I'm going to do some full-body and outfit breakdown pictures too, but they are actually pretty low on the list for now cos yeah... 657 million other things need to be drawn first... WHY AM I STILL TYPING I HAVE TO GO DRAW SOME MORE NOW.
5 mins and i'm already in love with Naroth, you gotta love those awesome dark characters - with freckles! I like your style of elf! it's more fresh and gets away from the overly stereotypical fantasy elf. It is a bit off-putting sometimes when it seems like a whole lot of fantasy novels are the same and cliche, but keep it up, at least the process of creating your own world and characters is fun and rewarding. I like your profile breakdown too, i can learn quite a few things for drawing characters
I really like how the skintones glow, and Naroth's freckles _ I think they're all great, but his skin is so realstic and so well done he stands out the most to me.
I haven't seen these guys since elfwood! I love them! Their faces are so awesome, and they still look like them, even if your style's a bit different. coolie!
